Learning Activities Focus on Celebrate Freedom Week

Celebrate Freedom Week

Monday, September 11, 2017 “Patriotic Day Kickoff” Students will gather on Highlawn’s playground.  As a school they will say the pledge and then have a moment of silence to remember September 11th and honor Patriots’ Day.  Students will dress in patriotic colors and walk around the playground. 

Tuesday September 12, 2017 “Declaration of Independence Day” Students will spend the day learning about the Declaration of Independence.

Wednesday September 13, 2017 “Constitution Day” Students will study the Preamble and the Constitution.

Thursday September 14, 2017 Students will participate in activities learning about The Bill of Rights and the Constitution.   

Friday September 15, 2017 “Celebrate Freedom Day” Students and staff are invited to dress as their favorite US History person or wear red, white and blue as we celebrate our freedom. 

Art, Physical Education, and Music teachers will have integrated patriotic lessons each day for their classes.
